The Schülen cheese dairy belongs to the Regio Chäsi Willisau cooperative, formed in 2005 from nine cheese dairy cooperatives in the vicinity of Willisau. Joining a larger cooperative association enabled the cheese dairy to remain in operation. For over 80 years in the town of Weiler situated at an altitude of 812 metres, Schülen has been turning the milk from nearby dairies into Sbrinz. Cows from the well-tended meadows and pastures of the Napfbergland foothills provide the tasty milk for our well-known, beloved cheese. In all, 20 cooperative members supply over a million kilos of milk. The hard work of our famers and the knowledge of our cheesemakers are the foundations that ensure the development of the unique Sbrinz taste.
