Käserei Gerschnialp

Ever since 1975, Sälmi Töngi has worked summer after summer at the Gerschnialp alpine cheese dairy to turn milk into cheese. Production runs to 30 tonnes of alp cheese made from cow’s milk and two tonnes of alpine goat’s cheese, which is shaped into wheels by means of a complex process and matured in cellars until the cheese is ready for sale. The idyllic alp, situated below Titlis mountain at an altitude of 1300 metres, can only be reached on foot along a beautiful forest path or via the nostalgic Titlis Engelberg cable car.
